Apartment Rheinweg occupies the second floor of a traditional Basel townhouse on Sankt Alban-Rheinweg, one of the city's most admired riverside streets. The building dates from the early twentieth century and retains its solid masonry character — wide plank floors, tall sash windows, and generous ceiling heights that make 90 square metres feel genuinely spacious. The apartment has been fitted out with care, favouring clean lines, neutral tones, and furniture that earns its place without cluttering the rooms.
The Sankt Alban quarter is one of Basel-Stadt's oldest neighbourhoods. It grew up around a medieval priory, and the narrow lanes running back from the embankment still hold a concentration of workshops, galleries, and independent cafes. The Rhine path directly below the windows is used by cyclists and walkers throughout the day, and the broad river itself provides a natural clock — the light changes from silver in the morning to amber by late afternoon. From the apartment windows you look across to the wooded slopes of the opposite bank, with no tall structures to interrupt the view.
